Action-packed days of fun ahead at Busselton Show
Organisers of the upcoming Busselton Show say the recently-released Show schedule is an action-packed, fun-filled programme of options for people of all ages and interests.
On the first weekend of November, Churchill Park will come alive to celebrate the region’s best entertainment, agricultural heritage and livestock, arts and crafts, with plenty of delicious local food options to keep bellies full across the weekend.
As always, the Exhibition Hall will display entries from locals in categories such as cooking, preserves, farm produce, fruits and vegetables, and flowers.
Arts and crafts are covered with displays of spinning and weaving, quilting, crochet, knitting, woodwork, metalwork, visual art, photography and more.
There are even Lego competitions for both adults and kids, and with such a range of options available, organisers said “if you have always talked about entering then this is the year to do it. We have sections for everyone from under 5’s right up to over 75’s”.
“It is always wonderful to see the range of skills on display in our exhibition halls and we know there are more talented people out there and would really encourage everyone to give it a go,” Kylie Hodges, Vice President and Chief Hall Steward said.
For those chasing some top notch entertainment, gates will open on Friday at 3pm with all the fun of the Sideshow, fantastic displays from our local primary schools, pre-fireworks entertainment and of course, the spectacular fireworks display scheduled to take place after 8:30pm.
On Saturday, gates will open at 9am to give showgoers plenty of time to take in the day’s fun, including a free children’s area sponsored by the City of Busselton, with pony rides, face painting, trampolines, rock climbing, games and activities.
The Junkadelic Brass Band will be playing tunes while livestock displays of cattle, sheep and all manner of feathered friends, show jumping and other equestrian events will keep the crowds entertained.
A selection of food trucks and stalls will cater to all tastes and appetites, with lots of local and visiting trade stall holders sharing their wares with attendees.
“We love that our show incorporates so many different experiences on the one ground, from the agricultural side with all the livestock attending and the amazing exhibition halls showcasing our community members’ abundant talents, to the fantastic displays in our Trade areas and the entertainment providers who will be sure to capture passing audience attention,” said Show President, Wally Lord.
And who could forget all the fun of Sideshow Alley?!”
