Action heats up at tennis club championships

Junior champions and runners up celebrate their success after a challenging day of tennis in warm weather at the Margaret River Tennis Club.
Players battled warm weather with “great determination and sportsmanship” at the recent First National Margaret River Doubles & Juniors Club Championships at the Margaret River Tennis Club.
Club President Carl Sanderson thanked all those who made the championships a reality.
“A huge thank you to our Club Captains Justin Todd and Tika Baxter for their outstanding organisational skills in bringing this event together.

“Everything ran seamlessly both on and off the court, thanks also to the tireless efforts of Gemma Todd in the kitchen – your hard work was truly appreciated.”
Mr Sanderson also thanked major sponsors First National Margaret River and praised the club for supporting its junior contingent.
“It was fantastic to see the Juniors back on court for the Club Championships after a few years off,” he said.
“A big shoutout to Tambo for his dedication to nurturing young players and getting them excited about tennis!

“We also loved the incredible family support-thank you to all the parents and friends who came down to cheer on the players.
