Margaret River trail consultancy, Common Ground Trails, has had three of their Australian projects awarded at Parks & Leisure Australia's Regional Awards of Excellence.

The Albany Youth Challenge Park took out the 'Playspace Projects over $500,000' award and the Waroona Community Precinct was recognised as the 'Best Regional/Rural Industry Contribution' at the WA awards last week.
The recognition comes on the back of another Common Ground Trails project taking out the 'Playspace Project under $500,000' for their Majors Road Pump Track at the South Australian awards last month.
Each of the projects were collaborative efforts, partnering with local governments. The company works with local governments Australia-wide to deliver innovative and popular pump track facilities.
The Albany Youth Challenge Park followed a groundswell initiative from the local community and was delivered by the City of Albany, Common Ground Trails and Skate Sculpture, boasting one of the largest dedicated combined pump, jump and skate facilities in Australia.
Director of Common Ground Trails, David Willcox, said the team was excited to work on such iconic projects.
"We are pleased to see each of these concepts come to fruition and these projects pave the way for other collaborative play spaces throughout the country," Mr Willcox said.
"Western Australia is fast evolving its trail and pump track network to compete on a national level."
He said pump tracks unlocked mountain biking skills for novice riders, while providing a multi-purpose facility for all ages.
"We see mountain biking as highly important to deliver on our mission to reshape the world and get people out on bikes to create the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts," Mr Willcox continued.
"Facilities like these are the gateway for people venturing further into the bush on bike and becoming environmental stewards."
The projects will all go on to compete at the National Awards of Excellence, which will be announced in October 2024.
