Store manager Ted Carter, flanked by his excited staff, cut the red ribbon to mark the launch of the popular retailer in Busselton.
Customers were running through the modern store to try to score one of the 250 gift bags given to the first purchasers.
Kmart Busselton is the largest in the South West.
The store showcases Kmart’s new national layout including central self-serve check-outs, wider aisles for easy wheel chair and pram access, as well as bolder graphics for navigation and a convenient shopping experience.
The store has employed 119 team members from the community.
Kmart Busselton is located in the Power Centre next to Aldi supermarket.
